The management should have the necessary facilities ready and should have a doctor and nurse on board in order to address medical needs of passengers.

Getting Oneself Ready .  Before boarding, you should seek a physician's advise about getting necessary vaccinations especially if you are about to visit different ports. Choose a cruise line which is well-known and you think  will best address your needs. If you are undergoing a certain medical condition, let them know. With this, the staff can be prepared as well and can take necessary precautions. Make sure to bring your needed medicines, medical equipment and medical documents as well.  You may also consider getting a medical insurance.
